Hike to the top of Amicalola Falls, the Southeast’s tallest cascading waterfall at 729 feet. Those interested in adding an educational element can opt for a guided hike with an Activities Assistant to identify key species in the park and teach the history of Amicalola.

Zipline through the trees and over the lake at Unicoi State Park, boasting 19 zip lines and more than 7 suspension bridges that range from 75 to 2,000 feet long and as high as 100 feet off the ground.

Tomahawk throwing has never been trendier, and Amicalola Falls State Park adds an authentic outdoorsy twist to the popular activity by inviting guests and visitors to try their hand at ax throwing while surrounded by the Chattahoochee National Forest.

Unicoi Beach

Set on the shores of the 53-acre Smith Lake, Unicoi Beach is one of Unicoi State Park’s most popular attractions with a rental program that makes it easy to enjoy summertime activities such as bass fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

Summer is the perfect time to hop on a boat, and Georgia Veterans State Park’s open Marina welcomes boaters and friends to get on the water. Visitors can bring their own boats or choose from a large selection of rental crafts, including pontoon boats that can accommodate up to 12 boats.
