Head to the North Georgia mountains for a fall festival to remember at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. The Georgia Mountain Fall Festival is a nine-day event that takes place in Hiawassee, Georgia. There will be live music, arts and crafts vendors, food, kids crafts and games and more. The popular State Fiddlers’ Convention also takes place during the festival. The family-friendly event will have you returning year after year.
Dillard Bluegrass and BBQ Festival
The Dillard Bluegrass and BBQ Festival is an annual event that features well-known bluegrass bands in the region. There will be a BBQ cookoff amongst some of the best cooks in the nation, live music all day long, cooking classes, arts and crafts and plenty of free children’s activities!
Chattahoochee Mountain Fair
The Chattahoochee Mountain Fair in Clarkesville, Georgia has been a family tradition since 1975. The fair hosts a rodeo, carnival rides, a baking contest, livestock judging, face painting, a talent show and many more family-friendly events. The weeklong event usually takes place in September.
Georgia Apple Festival
The North Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay, Georgia is one of the state’s biggest annual celebrations. The festival has been taking place for nearly 50 years during two weekends in October. North Georgia State Fair
The North Georgia State Fair in Marietta, Georgia the end of September through the beginning of October is one of the biggest celebrations in the state. It attracts around 300,000 people every year from Georgia and neighboring states. Live music, farm animals, flower shows, fair food, carnival rides, blue ribbon competition and local entertainment are only some of the attractions you will encounter at the fair!
Athfest
Athfest is a three day long music and art festival in the “Classic City” of Athens, Georgia that usually takes place in June. The best local and regional talent come together in one place to celebrate the arts and play live music all day long during the event. There are several stages, a kids area, food and games. The event brings awareness to a huge area nonprofit, Athfest Educates.
Butternutcreek Festival
The High Country Artisans Butternutcreek Festival in Blairsville, Georgia is known as one of the finest juried arts and crafts shows in the southeast. The event is usually held the third weekend in July and showcases the work of over 70 local and regional artisans and craftsmen during a two day stint. Candle making, basketry, fine art, fabric art, decorative painting, jewelry making, metal working, pottery, photography, soap making, scrimshaw and woodturning are only a few of the categories that will be represented.
