Our Favorite Date Nights

CAIRN VIEW WINERY

Turn your next date night into an overnight affair with a private guest suite above the tasting room at Cairn View Winery. An extension of Bent Tree Lodge, a boutique bed & breakfast in Jasper, Cairn View exemplifies hospitality in everything from curated wine tastings to homecooked breakfasts for B&B guests. Open Thursday – Sunday, the winery offers indoor tables by reservation only, ensuring an intimate experience, alongside regularly scheduled live music and occasional ticketed events, like dessert pairings or wine cocktail classes. But the most exclusive offering for overnight guests is access to the semi-private balcony overlooking the tasting room. Choose from two well-appointed suites—the botanically-themed Gibbs Garden Suite or the more masculine Tobacco Pouch suite. Find a full schedule of events and make your reservations online at cairnviewwinery.com.

CELEBRATE NYE AT BRASSTOWN VALLEY RESORT

Pack that little black dress and some formal attire for him (luckily, no tie required) for this New Year’s Eve Gala in the North Georgia Mountains of Young Harris. This year’s New Year’s Eve bash at Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa will have an “enchanted forest theme” and includes an open bar beginning at 7:30 p.m., a gourmet dinner buffet as well as music and dancing throughout the evening for a rate of $325 per couple. But as we all know, it’s best not to drive home after so much “celebrating,” so consider the NYE Guest Room package for $679, which includes Champagne and chocolate in your room, dinner buffet, open bar, dancing, accommodations, and a breakfast buffet the next morning that includes Bloody Mary and mimosas. Of course, guests must be at least 21 years old to attend. What better way to toast the New Year than with a romantic getaway to beautiful Brasstown Valley Resort? Book at brasstownvalley.com.

A NIGHT AT THE “OLD” MOVIES

Is there anything more romantic than seeing a beloved Romcom in a beautiful historic theater? Maybe you need to be reminded of the joys of sharing a drink as you both dip your hands into the popcorn tub. Marietta’s Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre on the city’s historic square will host two romantic movie classics—“It’s A Wonderful Life” on Tuesday, December 20th, with showtimes at 11 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9:15 p.m., and a one-time showing of “Sleepless in Seattle” on Friday, December 30 at 8 p.m. All show tickets are $10. Enjoy the show and the snuggle. Find details at earlsmithstrand.org.

MUSIC IS ROMANCE

What is better than a glass of wine and listening to live music? No, really, we don’t know, do you? If you haven’t been to The Velvet Note Acoustic Living Room, Georgia’s favorite Jazz Club, then don’t miss a note, and make your reservations today. Celebrating 10 years, this romantic music venue in Alpharetta is a perfect date night, where you can hear world-class musical artists in a place as intimate and cozy as your own living room. And the menu celebrates Southern seafood cuisine that is both upscale and accessible for dinner dates. Check their website for upcoming shows this winter at thevelvetnote.com.

SNUGGLE UP OUTSIDE UNDER THE STARS

I think you know by now how much we love glamping. The joy of being outside snuggled up like s’mores with your partner … but having a cozy bed, bathroom and a heater at your disposal. Ah, now isn’t that romantic? May we recommend North Georgia Glamping in Ellijay, Fireflies and Moonlight Glamping in Hiawassee, and Timberline Glamping Company at Amicalola Falls, Lake Lanier, Unicoi State Park and Clarks Hill Lake in Georgia? There is something for everyone, such as large safari tents, cozy bell tents, and even retro RVs to create a wonderful night snuggling with your sweetie. To plan your getaway, visit northgeorgiaglamping.com, firefliesandmoonlight.com or timberlineglamping.com.
