From 1935 until the mid-70s the Log Cabin at Old Milton High School was a gathering place for student groups as well as members of the community. Many events were held at the Log Cabin which was the largest site for public meetings and events.
On Saturday, October 16, 2021, the Alpharetta @ Old Milton County Historical Society will host the Grand Reopening of the historic Future Farmers of America Log Cabin at its new site in Milton Avenue Park. The event will begin at 10:00 with remarks by Mayor Jim Gilvin, Donald Mitchell and Morgan Rodgers.
The FFA Log Cabin is now located at 210 Milton Avenue which was previously the home of Carrol and Louise Beavers. The park is directly across from the former site of Milton High School and is now the home of Innovation Academy, a Fulton County STEM school. Former principal Phil Thomas will be making some comments about his time at Milton and after the ceremony, Phil and his brother will entertain with music. There will be games for kids as well as pumpkins to paint. Come and enjoy the day and see how the revitalized Log Cabin is ready to serve the community for many more years.
The Mansell House & Gardens is located at 1835 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta. It is a special events facility that can be rented as a special place for families to celebrate the important events of life such as Birth, Marriages, Graduations, Reunions, Showers, Anniversaries, Birthdays, Christenings, and more.
