THE ARTS ARE ALIVE AND WELL in the far reaches of our state. The evidence is found in the North Georgia Arts Guild, an organization in Rabun County with more than 100 members specializing in everything from painting and pottery to fiber and other fine crafts. Striving to cultivate community between artists and promote arts in the region, the guild meets monthly for presentations and demonstrations and provides scholarships for Rabun County high school seniors. This season, see the fruit of their greatest labors on display at the Painted Fern Art Festival, September 17 – 18 at the Rabun County Civic Center. Find festival details at paintedfernartfestival.com. For info on joining the guild, visit northgeorgiaartsguild.com.
