Get Groovy

Written By: Bre Humphries

HOW ABOUT A SPRING field trip to the zoo? The Groovy Yard Art Zoo, that is! The tongue-in-cheek attraction in Mineral Bluff is home to the artistic renditions of more than 50 different species. The animals are crafted from various mediums, typically a combination of metal, aluminum and wood, and run the gamut from rhinos to roosters. Of course, you can’t miss Harold, the resident giraffe, who towers over the zoo at 20 feet tall. Admission is free and most of the creatures are for sale, so take home your own maintenance-free pet, or just come for the fun—it’s an unexpected and whimsical experience! Visit thegroovyzoo.com for directions and details.
