Georgia Gems: Merry & Wild

Written By: Bre Humphries

CELEBRATE THE SEASON with Mother Nature!

Spend a day in the animal kingdom at Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for orphaned or injured creatures of all sizes in Lilburn. Here, you’ll meet monkeys, rabbits, owls, deer, bear, bison and more as you enjoy seasonal festivities. At press time, details of the holiday event were to be determined; visit yellowriverwildlifesantuary.com for information.

From December 13 through February 28, Chattahoochee Nature Center in Roswell morphs into a magical winter wonderland with its Enchanted Woodland Trail, where you can spy the whimsical homes of fairies and gnomes throughout the forest. The Enchanted Woodland Wonders launch party on December 13 includes a visit from live reindeer, a campfire with S’mores and hot cocoa, games and winter crafts.

Plan your visit at chattnaturecenter.org.
