Georgia Gems: Fall Fun

Whether we’re picking the perfect pumpkin or meandering through a corn maze, fall is our favorite season to go farm hopping across North Georgia. Here are a few farms to check out this season, each offering acres of fun and plenty of space in which to spread. Check websites for updated information and social distancing guidelines.

BUFORD CORN MAZE, Buford. This farm features a 5-acre corn maze, hayrides, animals, kids’ activities, concessions and a haunted forest. bufordcornmaze.com

BURT’S PUMPKIN FARM, Dawsonville. Find thousands of pumpkins in all colors, shapes and sizes, plus additional produce is grown on-site, a 2-mile hayride featuring fields of flowers and scenic views and a country store stocked with fall décor and more. burtsfarm.com

COPPER CREEK FARM, Calhoun. Family-friendly fun with cow-milking, corn mazes, bull riding and more by day morphing into a spooky haunted farm adventure in the evening, plus fireworks every Saturday night in October; coppercreekfarm.com

PETTIT CREEK FARMS, Cartersville. Pumpkin Fest meets petting zoo on this 80-acre farm, where you can glimpse exotic animals like a camel and a giraffe while enjoying favorite fall festivities like a corn maze and hayrides; pettitcreekfarms.com

UNCLE SHUCK’S, Dawsonville. This family favorite features a 17-acre corn maze at a new location on Bannister Road, kids’ activities, refreshments and a haunted trail. uncleshucks.com

WASHINGTON FARMS, Bogart. Here, you’ll find an 8.5acre corn maze with special features like bridges and slides, pumpkins galore, kids’ activities and concessions (including homemade ice cream). washingtonfarms.net

YAHOO FARM, Jasper. More corn mazes with clues for finding your way through, plenty of pumpkins, concessions and unique activities (pumpkin hunting, anyone?) with haunted hayrides and a cosmic corn maze on Saturday nights. yahoofarm.com
