Rocktoberfest

Event Details

Rock City celebrates the German heritage of our founder, Frieda Utermoehlen Carter, every Saturday and Sunday throughout October. The area’s premiere German festival offers live German music with the Musik Meisters, Wurstbrats and Mark Merriman, along with specialty German food. Café 7 is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, as well as themed food offerings in the pavilion and Big Rock Grill. Try beer-braised bratwursts with German potato salad and mustard, giant pretzels with beer cheese sauce, beer cheese soup bread bowls, Bavarian pork sandwiches with German-style kraut and a variety of Oktoberfest drinks.

Listen to a story from Ik the Troll King, watch Jerry the Mime entertain and get a caricature drawing by artist Dennis Hart. Pumpkin painting is also available as an add-on activity! Take a self-guided tour of the gardens during peak fall foliage, catch a Birds of Prey Show featuring the amazing Rock City Raptors and be sure to visit the Fudge Kitchen for pumpkin spice treats. Souvenir pink birdhouses and other merchandise are also available for purchase to help raise funds for the CHI Memorial Foundation scholarship. This event has been selected as a Top 20 Event for 2021 by Southeast Tourism Society! Online reservations recommended, as some time slots can sell out. seerockcity.com
