The Arts Council, Inc. proudly announces five, family-friendly, outdoor concerts on the grounds of The Arts Council Smithgall Arts Center in downtown Gainesville, GA. After a long wait, Summer MusicFest™ 2021 is finally here with five “CAN’TMISS CONCERTS UNDER THE STARS with enhanced sound and lights projected from our new Gladys Wyant Performing Arts Pavilion. With a mix of country, southern rock, bluegrass, patriotic, shag, beach and soul, there is something for everyone! 

Bring your own picnic, favorite beverage, kick off your shoes and relax. Bring a chair or get an upfront view by reserving a Table for 8. Purchase Series Tickets so you don’t miss one minute of this energetic five-star, five-show lineup. All shows start at 8PM, gates open at 6PM.

BANKS & SHANE – Friday, June 18th – Come experience for yourself, the high-energy, hard-kicking, blow-the-roof off band that has had capacity crowds around the world dancing in the aisles. For over forty years, Banks Burgess, Paul Shane, and their fabulous band, with their high-spirited renditions of old-time rock n’ roll, folk, bluegrass, and country have been bringing capacity crowds to their feet!  Their show is not just musical entertainment for your party, The Banks & Shane show is the party!  

NORTHWINDS SYMPHONIC BAND – Patriotic Pops Concert – Saturday, July 3rd – Bring the family and kick-start your Independence Day celebrations with us! The Northwinds Symphonic Band is a hometown favorite with its annual Patriotic Pops concert. Led by conductor Allen Beach, a former band director, and featuring two of your favorite vocalists…Michelle Martin and Jonathan (JJ) Jackson, the band also includes other band directors, both active and retired, music teachers, college students, professional musicians and several players who pursue an occupation outside the field of music.  

THE HIGHWAYMEN LIVE – Saturday, July 17th– The original Highwaymen traveled the world performing country music to millions of fans. Now you can watch in amazement as each song, one hit after another is sung just as if the original band were performing. This country music tribute show is full of upbeat hits like Ring of Fire and On the Road Again. This group not only has the look, but they have the sound that will transport you back to another time in classic country music. “What a great performance. RIVERSTREET – Saturday, August 7th– Tap your feet and dance to the classics – Rock ‘n Roll classics that is. Founded in 1969, in Gainesville, GA, this Classic Rock band continues to cultivate and maintain a following, not only in its home state of Georgia but all over the Southeast. Riverstreet has shared the stage with many notable acts including Greg Allman, Rare Earth, Steppenwolf, Guess Who, Headeast, The Tams and Badfinger. The band’s prodigious mastery of the entire spectrum of the classic rock epoch is still undeniable.

BACK IN TIME – Saturday, August 21st – Come sing and dance to the music as you enjoy a family-friendly show weaved into a powerful southern rock-n-roll, shag, beach and soul experience. As the name implies, this music will take you back to great hits of yesteryear as well as some of today’s hits. Their musical tour-de-force of talent combines musicianship, vocal precision and a stage presence that includes favorite local vocalists, and a 9-piece band, including a 4-piece horn section all garnering them regional acclaim.
