Pooches in the Park

Event Details

Tails will wag when Braselton digs in for its 7th annual Pooches in the Park. Plan to bring the entire pack (dogs, kids, friends, etc.) to Braselton Park on Harrison Street from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
– Rover on Over Marketplace – Sniff out some fun new accessories for Fido or meet some local pooch service providers such as vets, groomers and boarders.
– Howl About Some Contests – The event will also feature a variety of fun, free contests. Stop by the pavilion in the park to sign up. Space is limited and prizes will be awarded.
– Run Over to the Lure Course – Fast-paced and fun the watch, dogs chase a mechanized, plastic lure around the course. Come to watch the excitement or have your pup give it a try for a small donation benefiting the Humane Society of Jackson County.
– Wolf Down Some Treats – There will be plenty of treats for the pups and your human pack.
– Dixie Dock Dogs will be splashing down near the tennis courts. Featuring two full days (Saturday and Sunday) of scheduled competitions. Watch world-class competitive distance jumping.

Pooches in the Park is a family-friendly event. All dogs must be on leash and play well with others!

Georgia Apple Festival Final Weekend

For 55 fun-filled years, the Georgia Apple Festival has brought two exciting weekends in October to Gilmer County. Ellijay and East Ellijay hosts hundreds of vendors with handmade, hand-crafted items, on-site demonstrations, live music, and delicious fair food. The festival is named after the ripening apples that you can find all over the area at local orchards. Despite its growth from a small arts & crafts show to the four-day event that it has become today, the Georgia Apple Festival continues to be a big show with a small-town feel. The festival is held at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairgrounds, 1729 South Main Street, Ellijay, GA 30540. https://www.georgiaapplefestival.org/
