Beth Collins Cakes

Written By: Bre Humphries

No birthday celebration is complete without cake and candles, but this isn’t your standard sheet-cake variety. Beth Collins Cakes are stunning showpieces that just so happen to be scrumptious, too.

Inspired by the love her family always pours into birthday celebrations, Collins began making a cake for her mom every December and discovered a true talent for baking. She continued to experiment with ingredients and decorating techniques, baking cakes for family and friends until she had a full-fledged side hustle on her hands. Now, when she’s not at her day job at the University of North Georgia, you’ll find her in the kitchen with her 6-year-old daughter and sous chef. Signature flavors include buttermilk, brown butter and a Swiss meringue buttercream frosting, all with Collins’ decorative touch (sanding sugar and glitter, oh my!) but cake flavors and designs are customizable.

Favorite creations include a chocolate cake with salted bourbon buttercream, dark chocolate ganache and caramel-dipped pecans and a mermaid-themed, two-tiered affair decked out in purple-and-teal Ombre “waves.”
