Zoo Atlanta announces plans to introduce a breathtaking new addition to Atlanta’s holiday traditions. The Zoo has partnered with Hanart Culture to host a Chinese Lantern Festival to take place throughout Zoo grounds in late 2021.
The Chinese Lantern Festival produced by Hanart Culture will introduce visitors to a nighttime wonderland featuring vistas of hand-crafted, illuminated wildlife and awe-inspiring sights celebrating the diversity of the natural world. The event will debut to the public on Monday, November 22, 2021, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, and will be open through Sunday, January 16, 2022.
“We are thrilled to partner with Hanart Culture on a winter experience unlike any other our Members and guests have previously expected from Zoo Atlanta,” said Raymond B. King, President and CEO. “We hope the Chinese Lantern Festival will be just the beginning of a new tradition that sparks the imagination, celebrates the year-round beauty of our grounds, and fully inhabits the important place the Zoo holds in the hearts and minds of people of all ages.”
Tickets will be available starting October 1, 2021. Zoo Atlanta Members will have access to exclusive preview opportunities from November 18 through November 21.
